FMCG Monitor Q3 2017
Indonesian economy showcases steady growth at the same level as of previous quarter as well as the same period last year. On the other hand, exchange rate shows lower rate than last year despite maintaining a more stable state throughout 2017. Growth is seen in FMCG spend year-on-year, in spite of the fact that it's mainly driven by price increase.
Besides, continuous polarization in consumer behavior is seen through wider spending gap on higher and lower economic class, with lower SES driving total FMCG growth through personal care sector. At the same time, out-of-home consumption is climbing up within beverages sector.
