In the latest issue, the Philippine economic contraction continues in Q3 but slower compared to previous quarter. Headline inflation rate is currently stable at 2.5%, still within government’s full-year target. However, in-home FMCG performance now shows the full impact of the strict regulations as it slides to -6.3% as of MAT September 2020.
As lockdown measures are further relaxed, hard-hit demographics, megasectors and channels are starting to recover in the recent months. Sari-sari stores, which plays a big part in the Philippine FMCG landscape, is starting to regain shopper’s spending via more trips across markets – especially for beverages
