Key Highlights:
ECONOMIC SITUATION: Philippine economy is slowly recovering compared to same quarter last year. While Filipinos continue to allocate more on food, improvement in OOH expenditure can be observed as restrictions eases.
SHOPPING BEHAVIOUR: Filipino homes still prioritizing food in their shopping baskets, though still below pre-pandemic levels. Nevertheless, essential pantry staples like Cooking Oil, Instant Noodles, and Bottled Water are being purchased more.
CHANNEL LANDSCAPE: Proximity stores have been growing relevance among Filipino shoppers, and this still holds true, especially smaller formats stores – SSS and Groceries. However, slowing down of Gifting seen for this year.
